that, my friends, is a bubble of water that had been sliding down behind the paint. i started feeling the wall around it and realized we had a MAJOR leak somewhere in our house!
when the husband got home, we discovered that the toilet from the master bathroom had been leaking for who knows how long; down through the subfloor and into two closets downstairs. utah disaster kleenup came and had to rip out most of the girl's closet, part of the playroom closet, and gut our bathroom since our subfloor was molded and rotting (nice, right?!)
i'm not gonna lie. i was secretly happy this happened.
i've never loved our teeny master bathroom and had actually been plotting it's remodel on pinterest (follow me!} before any of this happened. so to have the excuse to remodel AND have our insurance pay for it was pretty much awesome.
so here's a before of the bathroom (i had a feeling once we discovered the leak that a full demo was upon us)
ugly tile. ugly countertop. rogue hair dye streaking the white cabinet. no bueno.
and here's how it looks as of now.
tom's been working really hard on it and i can't wait for the final reveal!

i LOVE it and can't wait to see more! i secretly wish that would happen here, too! i mean, i'd be adding a whole second shower/3/4-bathroom to the house...but...
