the light fixture that hung over our table was okay, but it wasn't really my style and i'm not a huge fan of lights that hang from chains so i found this beauty on overstock.com for only $55!
once again, the handy husband put it together for me! he really is worth having around!
{ don't mind the inch thick layer of dust on the old fixture! }
up next... convincing the husband that these chairs would look awesome in the kitchen

you really have a great eye. i never noticed the chain, but now when you point it out...i agree the silver light fixture is a lot nicer. i love it.
i love it. the only exceptions I make with chains are old school lights. huge milk glass globes with antique fixtures.

The new fixture looks great (of course) - I like the chairs you have but the Ikea chairs would really pull your modern look together. You have a great eye.
