{ brigham city temple }

since this was the last week to go see the brigham city temple before they dedicate it; we decided to keep miss home from school, loaded up the kiddos at 7 in the morning and took the trek up to see it!

poor little jakey was SO SCARED to ride the shuttle bus from the parking lot to the temple--can't you just feel the anxiety coming out of him?!

the kids did pretty well considering their ages and the church did a beautiful job with the temple!  brigham city is famous for their peaches so there were lots of peach blossoms put in the details of the architecture and peach was a main color throughout the decor.

we were able to witness a very sweet moment between a couple that were clearly not endowed.  they were standing in a corner right outside the exit holding each other and quietly crying.  it was obvious that they had felt the spirit and it was such a testament to me of how special and powerful the temple really is!

then we hung outside for a little bit and snapped a few pics--we didn't stick around for too long though since the kids were going crazy by then!

this is as good a picture as it gets with 4 crazy kids!

another round of preschool!

since elli's birthday is in july (and because she had to take a couple of years of speech therapy) we decided it was best to hold her back from kindergarten this year.

so that meant another year of preschool (this will be her third!).  but this will be the first time that she's gone to a private preschool and not one through the school district AND it's three days a week.  WAHOO!

gotta love that sweet face!

our butterfly popped!

our little gal popped this morning at about 6:45!  miss woke up and spent the whole morning before school in the backyard holding her (she even ate her breakfast out there!)

(carrie sweet i can feel you squirming all the way from here!)

i had to plan a little activity last week for miss' class so i took the chrysalis in and i talked to them about the life cycle of a butterfly and what metamorphosis is.  then i had them do this little life cycle.  each spot gets a different kind of pasta glued on.  oh, my heck the kids in her class LOVED it!  it was a huge success so i'm attaching the life cycle i designed for whoever wants to use it!

(the kids were coloring/drawing all over the page so i decided to make it black & white)

camera cleanup { ALL BOY EDITION }

miss is back at school and elli starts up preschool again next week, which means me and my boys are going to have lots of quality time together!

they've been tons of fun lately and all my pictures seem to be of them, so here's a camera clean dedicated just to my boys!

it's still crazy hot around here so unfortunately there's a lot of laying around and tv watching going on.

jakey's new obsessions--his sippy cup and blankets. as many blankets as he can get his hands on.

sitting in a laundry basket full of blankets is seriously his idea of heaven!

jakey's other obsession--lurking in the bushes in our backyard--and occasionally eating the dirt as well.

honestly, could he get any cuter?!?!?!?

sawyer playing with the marquee & letters--unless we are going somewhere that boy is ALWAYs in his underwear.  it's just a fact of life, folks.

caught them watching the garbage man.  typical boys.

and finally one of crazy sawyer james.  how does one sleep like this?!

so that's it for now.  i'm going to try and post lots of yummy recipes this week so check back soon!

{ 3 }

mr. sawyer james is three!

at the rate he was going we weren't sure if he was going to make it--rsv twice, pneumonia, 2 emergency room visits--but he's still around and we love his silly personality!

three is my absolute FAVORITE age and i can't wait to see what this next year brings!

i'm so glad i took these pictures on saturday because by monday he had this lovely dent on his forehead...

like i said... we're lucky he made it to three years old!
