flashback friday & 100th post!

i'm nosy. i'll admit it. i don't know why, but i am! if you live around me you should know this by now. remember the window peeping incident with my neighbor? so i totally laughed when i came across this picture. this was obviously a precursor to the nosiness that manifests itself today...except now i don't snoop on people while wearing a turtleneck and a diaper!




also, this will be my 100th post! i can't believe that with my boring life, i actually had 100 things to post about! so yay for me!

flashback friday-graduation day!

it's graduation time, so i thought it was only fitting that i do a 'flashback friday' of mine and tom's graduations. let's start with tom's. if you'll look at him and all of his friends, you'll notice that they all have the same sick "highland high bowl cut". i swear to you that EVERY single boy that goes to that school has this haircut. i made tom cut it about a week after we started dating!



moving on to mine, which isn't much better. i'm sure my friends and i thought we were so hot showing of our sexy legs. i wish that this picture showed all of our shoes, though. we all have on the same black chunky rubber platform shoes...so not cute!

it's my dad's birthday on sunday, and in honor of him i thought we'd have a little fun. so here goes...the first NON-FAMILY MEMBER to guess my dad's middle name will win the treat of their choice! i'll even give you a hint...it starts with an "A". GOOD LUCK!

yay! my sister and brother-in-law finally opened their pool for the summer! since tom and miss are out of town, i hung out over there and got started on my tan! here are some cute pics of my fat little elli in her swimming suit and of the kids playing with her in the pool!

(don't worry dad...she was supervised at all times!)

flashback friday-disco dance

oh, my goodness me. i've really sucked with the flashback fridays! sorry, it's kind of late in the day to be posting this, but oh well!

this was a disco dance that i went to my senior year. why are those boys in cowboy hats? who knows! they're teenage boys! who knows what they're ever thinking. i also have no clue why the boy in the front is showing his bum. anyway, the kid standing next to me (that's me with the sparkly blue top and sparkly red pants) with the big black afro is danny finnerty, my crush all through high school. yes, yes, i KNOW i dated tom since i was 15, but the term "dated" was sometimes used very loosely with me, depending on if i liked someone else at the time. (sorry, babe...love ya!).

anyhow...so there you have it! another fabulous flashback friday!

recipes...

so, i consider myself to be a pretty organized person, but when it comes to my recipes it's a disaster! i have most of my recipes printed out and in a binder, but once in a while i have to write a recipe down quickly and it ends up on a post-it (see picture below). or someone will write one down for me, and i'll just slip it into the pocket of the binder.

so i need some help. is there anyone out there with any suggestions on how to streamline and organize my recipes?!

happy mother's day!

hope all you mother's out there had a great day! i know i did! thomas j. got me a gift certificate to a spa and miss made me this great card, which she wrote out herself!

after church we got to talk to tom's brother who is on a mission in germany, and tom's mom made us german pancakes. then it was off to my mom's, where the men made a fabulous dinner of fried chicken, mashed potatoes with country gravy, rolls and homemade ice cream!

i couldn't resist...

when i was young, my friend nina had a tin of flavored lip gloss that we LOVED. i swear to you we applied so much of it, so often that we were basicalliy eating it off of our lips. well, i saw this lip gloss at the wal-mart and had to buy it! reese's pieces are my FAVORITE! don't be surprised if you catch me vigorously licking my lips in church tomorrow!

flashback friday-tom & oscar

first of all, i have to say 'thanks' to my sister, who reminded me that it was friday 'cause i totally spaced it.

anyway, this picture was taken on the day that tom and i bought our dog oscar (yes, that white fuzz sitting on tom's lap is a dog). it was taken in black & white because we were poor back then and didn't have a camera. i think i grabbed a disposable one from the grocery store and didn't realize that it was black & white. anyway, moving on. i still can't figure out why i thought we could handle a puppy. we lived in an apartment complex in sandy and we were both working, plus tom was going to school.

to make a long story short, i had a major meltdown after a week of having to mess with potty training and we came to the conclusion that maybe buying a puppy wasn't the best idea. we ended up pawning him off on tom's mom, who was nice enough to take him in!

what have i done?

i totally forgot about the mess that comes along with a baby that feeds itself. i can't count how many times i've swept the floor today!

it almost makes me want a dog, just to have it clean up the mess afterward...almost!

hey, look at that! a new post!

gosh! don't you hate it when people take forever to update their blog, and they leave you with the same boring "flashback friday" post for waaaaay too long?!

sorry about that! nothing too important going on in our lives right now, but i figured i'd better update with something before the hate mail started rolling in.

the only news going on around here is that our little elliot is now done with the bottle. she finished off her last can of formula on sunday night and i've thrown all the bottles in the garbage. now, i know that there are some mother's out there reading this that are probably horrified because supposedly you need to wait until your baby's about a year before you take them off of formula...but don't fret, she will be well nourished, i promise!

flashback friday-neighbors!

so, here's yet another picture of my sister and me. the blonde girl on right is my sister's friend wendy, who lived across the street. i'm not sure who the girl on the left is. my favorite part of this picture is that we have random tinsel halo's on in the middle of summer. oh, and i LOVE my brother's face in the background. i'm sure my mom was trying to take a picture of just the girls, and my brother was being obnoxious and trying to get in on it!

the mayan...and my hot husband!

my brother jon, and his wife darby are in town this week, so the family decided to have lunch at the mayan today. miss, of course, was mesmerized by the divers as shown by the picture below!
