christmas fun

let's all exhale a big sigh of relief . . . christmas is over! i really like christmas time, but it sure is nice to be over and done with it! i do have to say though, the nice thing about having young kids at christmas is that presents are a cinch to pick out. there's virtually no guess work when you have a 3 year old girl. grab anything that has to do with disney princesses and you're golden.

we had a great time spending the day with family. hope all of you had a fabulous holiday!

i heart new york!

it was FREEZING but it was fabulous! the whole experience of being in new york was so great! i especially loved eating breakfast at the "seinfeld" cafe and attending church three floors up from the manhattan temple. sadly, we didn't see any celebrities, but we DID see a razor scooter gang of middle-aged women yelling at a horse! HILARIOUS!

tom and i have to give a BIG shout out to jon and darby for showing us a great time and being so generous! i also have to give my parents, megan and jenny a HUGE "thank you" for taking such great care of our girls! it was so great, knowing i didn't have to worry about them!

because we headed home on my birthday and had some flights delayed, we ended up having to fly to vegas before flying home. so i spent my birthday in new york, chicago, las vegas and salt lake! i know, i'm quite the jet-setter!

these were just a couple of 'dos i tried out. what do ya'll think?

oh, snap! it's cold!

i've mentioned this before, but i REALLY hate the winter! i hate wearing socks and shoes, i hate having to scrape off my car to go anywhere, and i hate having to bundle up the kids just to run to the grocery store! but i DO think the snow is pretty and we woke up to a whole lot of it! tom and miss went out to shovel and i didn't think she'd last more than ten minutes, but she loved it and was outside for a good half an hour! i stood in the front doorway in my jammies and bare feet, snapped a picture, and scurried back inside!

things that must go...

i don't know how many of you listen to x96 in the morning, but every wednesday they do a segment called "things that must go". it's basically a list of things that bother them or things that are annoying.

here is my list of things that must go.

1. personalized license plates that are so abbreviated that you can't figure out what they mean!

2. "festive" holiday sweaters {{gag}}

3. stores that start selling swimming suits in january. do you think i really want to go swim suit shopping when i've packed on 5 lbs. of holiday weight and i'm pasty white?

4. sappy/cheesy e-mail forwards.

5. when you're reading the obituaries and it doesn't list how the person died...natural causes? fiery car crash? i'm nosey, i want to know!

6. paris hilton.

7. people that feel compelled to clap along to music at concerts.

8. "breaking news". i can't think of ANY news event that is worth cutting 20 minutes of my show out for! if i want to know what happened that day, i'll watch the news that night!

9. panda express...i swear their "chicken" is really cat meat.

10. junk mail!

11. outdoor malls, such as the gateway. tell me how in utah, this is a good idea to have a shopping center where you have to walk around in snow and freezing temperatures to get from one store to the next, especially with small children!

12. people who take their astrological signs seriously, and they'll say things like, "well, i'm a gemini, and we're really {fill in the blank}".

13. mcdonald's lettuce

so let's hear it people! what are your "things that must go"?

boy, my last couple of posts have been really depressing and bitter. i will cheer up soon, i promise!
