okay, so i lied...

the bathroom is about 95% done.  so no pics for now--but check back soon m'kay?

we went to arizona a couple of weeks ago to celebrate the second anniversary of my brother's blog.

here are the kiddos--all ready to go!

we drove 13 hours straight down (with pit stops here and there of course) and the kids were amazingly good for how long we drove.

tom loves stopping at this bridge every time.  i HATE it because i'm a freak about heights and having all 4 of my kids that high and so close to the edge KILLS ME!

while we were there an old australian couple pointed out this bird.  supposedly it's a california condor and is super rare.

an awesome local company made these plastic octopus tentacle mustaches.  look at those chicklet teeth shining through!

my brother = nicest uncle EVER!

on sunday night we drove up to the top of a mountain to watch the sunset (in our jammies).

it really was beautiful!

i was just so in love with these two that night

we decided to split the trip home into two days since jakey wasn't feeling well (he had thrown up at church the day before).  we made it to vegas and stayed at the hard rock.  probably not the best hotel choice with 4 kids but the room was nice!

once we were settled in our room, we headed to olive garden for dinner... and that's when PUKEFEST 2012 began.  jakey projectile vomited all over the table before our food had even arrived, so i scooped him up and carried him out (with a trail of puke behind me).  leaving tom and the other 3 kids to deal with the mess.  i had to take him to the car, strip him down in the parking lot--in 100° heat mind you--and wipe him down with wet wipes and then wait in the car for tom to get our food. we got back to the hotel room and fed the starving kids their food and by then we were all pooped and called it a night.  i was in one bed with the boys when at about 2 in the morning i was awoken to sawyer puking on the pillow next to me!  it was seriously brutal!  i don't know what it is about car trips but my kids bodies just don't do well!

but the next day was great and we made it home without any more drama!
